Ludhiana, May 30
The Special Task Force (STF) of Ludhiana today nabbed three smugglers, including two women, and recovered 2.2 kg heroin worth several crores from their possession. The STF also recovered Rs 2 lakh drug money and one Swift car from the smugglers.
The accused have been identified as Kewal Krishan alias Kala (43) of Bedi Nagar, Payal (21) of New Gobind Nagar and Poonam Rani (40) of New Shimlapuri. Payal’s husband Sanjiv Kumar was also a notorious smuggler. He along with his wife and others have been smuggling drugs for long.
Additional Inspector General, STF, Snehdeep Sharma along with STF incharge Harbans Singh during a press conference said after getting a tip-off, the STF cops conducted a raid at New Shimlapuri from where the three persons were nabbed.
