Congress MLAs have raised red flag over reports of private colleges not enrolling SC students under the Centre’s post-matric scholarship scheme from this session. Besides causing harassment to students, it was affecting the party’s reputation as well.

Chief Principal Secretary to the CM Suresh Kumar convened a meeting of the secretaries concerned to instruct colleges to start admissions.

Sushil Rinku, Jalandhar MLA, said unaided colleges were not enrolling SCs, affecting lakhs of students. — TNS
