Best Criminal Lawyers in Chandigarh SIT grills main accused for two hours by Advocate SS Sidhu Lawyer in Chandigarh High Court
Patiala, June 28
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the Mohinder Pal Bittu murder case grilled the accused at Patiala for two-and-a-half hours on Friday.
The team, headed by ADGP (Law and Order) Ishwar Singh questioned the five jail inmates who had been arrested by the Patiala Police. Though the SIT did not disclose anything about the interrogation, it said the questioning would continue.
Apart from the main accused, Gursewak and Maninder, the SIT also questioned Harpreet Singh Happy, Lakhbir Singh Lakha and Jaspreet Singh, alias Nihal Singh.
The police will produce all five accused in the court on Saturday. Earlier, CIA Staff incharge Shaminder Singh took accused Nihal Singh and Gursewak Singh to the new Nabha Jail for further probe.
Inspector General (IG) Kunwar Vijay Pratap, member of the SIT which is probing the 2015 Bargari incidents, said the murder of Bittu had affected the probe. However, he insisted that it would definitely reach a conclusion.
In the run-up to the probe, the IG visited the new Nabha Jail on Friday where Bittu was lodged. Jail officials said the IG met other dera followers lodged in the jail. The IG also questioned the two murder accused, Nihal Singh and Gursewak Singh.
Sources said Gursewak Singh was in touch over phone with accused Jaspreet Singh, who was lodged at Maximum Security Jail in Nabha. — TNS
