The Sriganganagar Police seized 12,250 sedative tablets by intercepting a vehicle near the railway underpass on Sunday night.

Amandeep Singh of Ferozepur and his nephew Gurpreet Singh Happy of Gajsinghpur were held under the NDPS Act. However, their accomplice Subhash Prajapat of Kikarwali village, Sriganganagar, reportedly managed to flee.

Preliminary interrogation reportedly indicated that Happy had been visiting his town to arrange supply of banned tablets through his nephew.

In another incident here, police nabbed Harish Singh and Paramjit Kaur of Panjpeer Colony with 3 gm of heroin, 750 banned tablets and drug money of Rs 21,000. The duo were held under Sections 21, 22, and 61 of the NDPS Act

Also, Surinder Singh Chhinda of Prempura Haveli village in Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur district was nabbed with 380 gm of opium. — OC
