Local Bodies Minister Brahm Mohindra today said officers in the urban local bodies will be held accountable in the event of any accident involving stray cattle in their respective jurisdiction.

Issuing directions to the Principal Secretary, Local Government, the minister said henceforth, if any untoward incident pertaining to the stray cattle was reported from any area of the state, the officer concerned would be held accountable and departmental action would be initiated against him. The minister also sought a detailed report in this regard from the Principal Secretary in three weeks.
