Earlier, the SGPC had ordered an inquiry after Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan was honoured by the management of Gurdwara Ber Sahib at Sultanpur Lodhi recently.
SGPC chief secretary Dr Roop Singh said the Sikh body had strongly condemned Maan over his objectionable remarks to demean Punjabi language.
About the release of remaining Sikh prisoners, Longowal said the Union and state governments should take a sympathetic view of the cases of other Sikhs, who have been languishing in jails for long.
“We are hopeful that the remaining prisoners would also be released," he said.
Meanwhile, the SGPC chief thanked both Indian and Pakistani governments for showing keen interesting in the Kartarpur corridor. "It was a long-pending demand of the Sikhs across the globe,” he said.
