The Patiala Foundation would organise a 2.5-km heritage walk on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak in Sultanpur Lodhi on November 3.

Over 250 volunteers, including philosophers, historians and academics, among others, from the Patiala Foundation would participate in the heritage walk, said Sultanpur Lodhi MLA Navtej Cheema.

Ravee S Ahluwalia, chief functionary of the Patiala Foundation, said it would be a community event to explore religious, cultural and social heritage of the holy place.

“We intend to make good use of social media and build a mass movement to tell everyone why the place holds so much significance. We have done four heritage walks in the past, including Qila Mubarak, Bahadurgarh Fort, Gharam village (associated with Mata Kaushalya) and Samana,” he said.

Recently, Hero Group donated 100 bicycles. The cycles with auto-locking system would be stationed at bus stand, Gurdwara Ber Sahib, Gurdwara Hatt Sahib and SDM offices for the convenience of devotees.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh would inaugurate a musical fountain park set up in 1,000 sq mt near bus stand. Deputy Commissioner DPS Kharbanda said instrumental music would be played.
