Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today visited this border town to offer condolences to the bereaved family members of state BJP ex-chief Kamal Sharma, who had died of cardiac arrest on Sunday.

Thakur was accompanied by DC Chander Gaind and SSP Vivek Sheel Soni besides other officials. While talking to mediapersons, Thakur said the untimely death of the BJP leader had left a big void in the politics of the region. The CM said he was always impressed with the life and political ideologies of Kamal Sharma. “The party workers can take a take a leaf of honesty, dedication and humbleness from the late leader,” he added.

Earlier, SAD chief Sukhbir Badal also visited Sharma’s residence. He said his untimely death had created a big vacuum in the state politics which can never be filled.

Sukhbir said the late BJP leader would also be remembered as a dedicated politician who, during his stint as the state head of the BJP, was instrumental in forging cordial relationships between BJP and SAD leaders and workers alike.

Sukhbir met the family members of Kamal Sharma and assured them that he and his party would always stand with the family. Sukhbir was accompanied by local leaders Jameja Singh Sekhon, Vardev Singh Noni Mann and Joginder Singh Jindu. Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala was also among the party leaders who visited the family.
