Tension gripped Barnala after nearly seven cows and six oxen were found ded near Moga bypass. The police have registered an FIR and started further investigations.

Earlier after seeing the carcasses lying on the roadside, area residents informed the police.

“We have recovered a total of 13 carcasses — seven cows and six oxen. We have registered a case under Section 429 IPC. We also got conducted the post-mortem and with the help of local organisations, buried the carcasses. We are conducting further investigations and soon arrest the accused,” said Baljit Singh, SHO, Sadar police station. — TNS
