The police on Thursday arrested Bahadur Singh, an accomplice of notorious gangster Sukhwinder Singh, alias Boxer, here. While Boxer along with three other gang members was arrested by the Ludhiana police last month when they were going from Mohali to Doraha, Bahadur Singh had escaped from the custody.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Investigation, Balwinder Singh Randhawa said besides opioid powder, one country-made pistol, one country-made gun and six live cartridges were recovered from the accused.

He said following a tip-off, the police put up a naka near the Patwar Khana Chowk, where they saw Bahadur Singh coming in a Bolero from Ropar side. The police then arrested him. — TNS
